Monte Vista School District is accepting applications for an Alternative Education Campus & Online Secondary Mathematics Teacher. The Byron Syring DELTA Center & the Monte Vista On-Line Academy seek an enthusiastic, interactive, relationship-based math teacher to join a dynamic team serving nontraditional students.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
● Current Colorado teaching license.
● Secondary mathematics endorsement.
● Strong technology skills.
● The ability to establish rapport with high-risk, on-site students is essential.
● The ability to establish rapport with students & parents through cyberspace is essential.
● Willingness to be self-directing, take initiative, and participate actively within a team-based leadership system.
● Ability to work cohesively with a small team.
● Collaborative approach to planning, RtI, and problem solving.
● Organized, structured, yet adaptable and flexible.
● Successful experience teaching students with RtI targeted level 2 & 3 interventions.
● Preference will be given to those skilled in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
● Preference will be given to those skilled with the Restorative Program and/or Trauma Skilled School methods.
The District operates on a 4-day week (Monday–Thursday) and offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package including employee health, dental, vision, HSA match, and life coverage.
