Start Date: August 1, 2026 (2026/2027 School Year)
Position Summary
North Park School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships, promote a positive school climate, and provide responsive support to meet diverse student needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ social-emotional well-being
Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district goals
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and post-secondary readiness
Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions and referrals
Maintain accurate and confidential student records
Support behavior intervention strategies and positive school culture initiatives
Coordinate with outside agencies and community resources as needed
Qualifications
Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
Valid Colorado School Counselor license/certification, or ability to obtain
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with students and families
Knowledge of social-emotional learning practices and trauma-informed care preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a K–12 school setting
Familiarity with rural/small school environments
