Monte Vista School District is seeking dynamic, people-oriented candidates for the position of Monte Vista Middle School Principal for the 2025-26 school year. The position offers a competitive salary based on experience, plus an attractive benefit package.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must possess a Colorado Principal License (or obtain prior to start)
*Preferred secondary school experience as principal/assistant principal with proven record of success
*Knowledge of the approaches that are most effective with this age range
*Knowledge of standards-based system approaches
*Knowledge of and experience with systemic thinking, and professional learning community practices
*Knowledge of learning theories and effective practices
*Ability to develop a school shared vision consistent with the District’s and continuous improvement cycles to support the continued growth of the school
*Knowledge of and experience in using data to increase student achievement for all students
*Must possess proficient oral and written communications
*Must be able to build interpersonal relationships with students, parents, the community at large, and administrative team members
*Must demonstrate passion for ongoing professional growth, both personally and for building staff who deal with diverse cultures
*Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations are desired

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*Leads, models, and demonstrates effective instructional leadership
*Demonstrates effective leadership skills at the building and District level
*Develops strong relationships with District staff, students, and community members
*Displays a thorough knowledge of standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment
*Hires and develops a quality staff
*Plans effectively for the allocation of resources: time, budget, and human resources
*Organizes students for effective instruction to maximize the learning time for all students
*Serves as facilitator and coordinator of learning
*Understands and applies: PLC practices, curriculum, standards-based education, principles of leadership, effective change, shared decision making, and issues management
*Monitors school and student performance to gauge effectiveness of programming, initiate improvement efforts, and recognize successes
*Supervises and evaluates teachers and support staff
*Attendance at a significant number of school-associated extracurricular events outside of regular working hours (evenings and weekends)
*Provides for student and staff safety and discipline
*Establishes an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations
*Fulfills contractual and professional responsibilities
*Implements a continuous system of evaluations and provides students with specific feedback
*Other responsibilities as assigned
