Description: ESY Teacher 
Extended School year is for students in grades PK- Transition (18-21yrs.) who qualify for ESY services per their IEP's. The goal of the program is to prevent regression of learned skills during the Summer months. ESY will be located at both Bea Underwood Elementary School and the Center for Family Learning during the Weeks of June 15 & 22 and July 13 & 20 - (Tuesday-Thursday)

ESY Teachers work with the ESY Site Supervisor to design programming and instruction for ESY students. The primary function of the ESY teacher is to provide compensatory services directly related to students' goals, objectives, and accommodations per IEPs, for students who participate in ESY services.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Implement and collect data according to the students Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Plan and provide specially designed instruction in accordance with students' IEP goals, and monitor progress with ongoing data collection.
• Work cooperatively with ESY and Summer school staff
• Identify individual student learning needs and develop strategies to address those needs. This will be demonstrated through knowledge of students and demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
• Provide clear and intentional focus on subject matter content and curriculum through knowledge of content and pedagogy, setting instructional outcomes, knowledge of resources and designing coherent instruction.
• Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment through creating an environment of respect and rapport, managing classroom procedures, student behavior and organizing a safe physical space for student learning.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community through effective and ongoing communication.
• Exhibit collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning.
• Participate in a professional community, grow and develop professionally and demonstrate professionalism.
• Establish student growth goals to ensure student growth over time.

Qualifications:
Teacher License preferred

Physical Demands: 
• Ability to work in classroom and school environment for extended periods of time including, but not limited to, sitting, standing lifting, bending and reaching
• Lift 50Ibs
