Position Title: Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 7–9)
Location: Haxtun Jr/Sr High
Reports To: Building Principal
Position Summary
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in mathematics for students in grades 7–9. This position focuses on developing students’ mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and foundational knowledge in alignment with district curriculum and state standards. The teacher supports academic growth while fostering a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction for grades 7–9.
Implement district-adopted curriculum with fidelity and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and attendance.
Classroom Management & Student Support
Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
Enforce school policies and classroom expectations consistently.
Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress and concerns.
Professional Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to improve instructional practices and student achievement.
Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and required school activities.
Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
Maintain professional conduct and adhere to district policies and state regulations.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field.
Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement for secondary mathematics.
Knowledge of middle school and early high school mathematics standards.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Education or Mathematics.
Experience teaching middle school or early high school mathematics.
Familiarity with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.
Skills & Competencies
