Advancing Opportunity, Quality, and Prosperity

The Colorado Rural Education Collaborative is a group of rural districts and stakeholders working together to advance opportunity, quality, and prosperity for rural Colorado students and their families.

Colorado is on pace to create more than 600,000 high-skill, high-wage jobs between 2008 and 2018, but over the same period, will only produce half the educated workers needed to fill them.

Unfortunately, this forces business to fill these jobs with workers relocated from out-of-state and Colorado citizens move down the economic ladder—resulting in lost opportunity and increased business and social welfare costs.

The Colorado Rural Education Collaborative was created by rural educators, for rural educators. These districts came together to design a collaborative that meets the needs of their rural communities.

Collaborative partners are working to expand student opportunity, enhance educational value, and enrich economic prosperity for rural Colorado.
