Salary: Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employee’s education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. 
• Highly qualified as determined by state criteria for business education.

Preferred:
• Prior Business Teaching experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
Platte Valley High School is seeking a Business Teacher and Co-FBLA Adviser to lead a comprehensive business program that prepares students for college and careers. This position includes teaching a range of potential business courses such as Aims Accounting Principles, Aims Principles of Marketing, Graphic Design and other business-related offerings. The role also involves co-advising the FBLA chapter, preparing students for competitions, coordinating community service, and traveling for events. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment, collaborate with staff and community partners, and contribute positively to the school and district culture.

Essential Functions and Characteristics:
• Teach a range of potential business courses: Aims Accounting Principles, Aims Principles of Marketing, Business Communication, Business Economics, Business Leadership, Digital Communication, Graphic Design, Personal Finance, Principles of Finance.
• Serve as co-advisor and actively support the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter. 
• Prepare students for district, state, and national competitions. 
• Travel with students for conferences and events both in and out of Colorado. 
• Assist in planning and supervising FBLA community service initiatives. 
• Collaborate with and support the Middle School FBLA chapter to build program continuity. 
• Assist in planning, organizing, and participating in Business Advisory Committee meetings. 
• Participate in student recruitment, registration, and course placement efforts. 
• Communicate regularly with parents, counselors, and staff regarding student progress and success. 
• Utilize effective, research-based instructional strategies aligned to district expectations. 
• Maintain and integrate instructional materials and technology to support student learning. 
• Stay current with trends in business education through professional reading, collaboration, and participation in conferences and professional organizations. 
• Maintain membership in relevant professional organizations. 
• Assist in maintaining classroom technology and equipment. 
• Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all students. 
• Contribute positively to building and district-wide culture, goals, and initiatives.
