Position Title: School Health Professional - Counselor/Social Worker
Direct Supervisor: Building Principal
Contracted Length Term: 169 days
Salary: A competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. Salary starts at: $50,224 - $85,813 depending on education and experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaboration
Participates in each school’s MTSS teams to support the determination of appropriate behavioral health interventions for students.
Supports school personnel's understanding of student-family-school-community relations that affect a student's school performance.
Serves as a school district representative on community-wide teams and coalitions related to youth behavioral health.
Serves as a resource to special education staff, including attending student staffings when appropriate.
Participates in district-wide school initiatives
2. Education
Collaborates with school personnel to develop additions to the curriculum in the areas of substance abuse, prevention, behavioral/mental health, and 7-Mindsets.
3. Direct Student and Family Services
Provides and/or coordinates clinically appropriate behavioral health interventions to individual students, groups of students, and families regarding behavioral health concerns.
Advocates for students with parents, teachers, school administrators, and other agencies
Serves as a resource regarding the academic, social, and emotional needs of the children, including crisis intervention.
Serve as a liaison between families and the school for students with identified behavioral health interventions
Participates in student mental health screenings and threat assessments
4. Other
Complies with district and school policies and procedures
Ensures the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all student information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position is grant-funded for 3 yrs.
Grant compliance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Social Work or School Counseling from an accredited institution of higher education.
Valid Colorado school social worker or school counselor license through CDE.
Previous school counselor or school social worker experience preferred
Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with administrators, teachers, students and families, and community members. Bilingual language skills preferred.
Ability to conduct studies, prepare reports, and make oral presentations.
Computer knowledge is required in computer-related subjects, and computer literacy is preferred for other content areas.
Ability to maintain individual student records and class files.
Ability to compile and present reports.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
