Salary: $49,185 - $60,090. Salary placement on our classified salary schedule is dependent on the employee’s education and/or work experience. Non-licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of work experience and/or educational attainment up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
Required:
• A bachelor's degree in speech communications, speech language/pathology, or communication disorder/speech sciences OR a bachelor's degree (in any major) plus 24 semester hours in speech language hearing sciences from regionally accredited college/university.
• Certificate of completion of an approved speech-language pathology assistant program which includes a minimum 100-clock hour school-based practicum under the supervision of an ASHA-certified, fully licensed school speech-language pathologist.
• Valid Colorado Department of Education endorsement as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant Authorization.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, provide education and therapy intervention to students with identified speech and language disorders. The position is currently focused on services in PK-6th grade. 

Essential Functions and Characteristics:
• Design, develop and implement learning activities to meet the identified needs of students placed in the program. Implement pre-post assessment procedures to determine progress of students in the program. 
• Provide written documentation/data collection for the purpose of reporting progress on IEP goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with other members of the school and support staff to plan and implement instructional goals, objectives and progress reports. 
• Maintain all required records, forms and files prescribed by the program and those required by the district. 
• Adapts educational materials and equipment for the purpose of providing intervention and/or meeting the individual student’s needs. 
• Assists in facilitating meetings/communications between therapist, site staff, parents, etc. for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student’s goals.
• Collects data on student achievements for the purpose of documenting activities, preparing reports and/or updating IEP logs. 
• Consults with Speech/Language Pathologist, teachers, etc. for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services. 
• Strive to provide a fun, stimulating learning environment with challenging and developmentally appropriate activities which will enhance each student’s communication/language skills.
