OVERVIEW 
Bayfield High School is seeking a full-time Business/Marketing teacher to work with our High School team. It is our mission to provide a safe and cooperative learning environment. JOB SUMMARY
Plan, prepare, implement, monitor, and evaluate a quality competency-based Business and Marketing CTE (Career and Technical Education) Program leading to the development of student skills sufficient to qualify for entry-level employment and/or post-secondary education using effective instruction with all students.
 
QUALIFICATION
-Currently hold a Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement (or CDE licensure application in process).
-Possess or be eligible for the appropriate Colorado CTE endorsement.
-Completed and submitted BSD on-line application.
-Inspire and work collaboratively with staff members and the community.
-Commit to the district vision of Each Student, Each Day: Wolverine Way.
-Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license.
-Submit fingerprints for a criminal background check.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter; center instruction on high expectations for student achievement and demonstrate effective teaching practices.
-Use multiple student data elements for the purpose of assessing student progress, modifying instruction and improving student learning.
-Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community for the purpose of fostering individual student success and growth while engaging the families in the instructional program.
-Exhibit collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning by participating in professional learning communities, showing professionalism, and growing professionally.
-Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in business and marketing courses.
-Manage and advise FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and incorporate FBLA leadership activities into the business and technology curriculum.
-Develop and maintain program budgets (student fees and FBLA) following district and building guidelines.
-Foster and manage a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
-Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management.
-Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program.
-Develop community and industry partnerships for students.
-Demonstrate a professional commitment to CTE innovation.
-Maintain and submit appropriate records (i.e., monthly, semester, and annual enrollment and employment reports).
-Order supplies, instructional materials, and equipment necessary for the program.
-Provide information and counsel students relative to employment, career opportunities and further education.
-Participate in district, regional and state CTE meetings, including CTE Advisory meetings and FBLA.
-Participation in FBLA required at the local, regional, and state levels (including the national level if students qualify).
-Work cooperatively with the CTE teachers and building administrators in staffing and scheduling decisions.
-Maintain accurate records of CTE program completers, grading, distribution of awards and submit information/records including student progress for all students. 
-Share with other staff members the responsibility for school activities and student supervision.
-Perform appropriate tasks as designated by the principal in relation to the responsibilities listed above.
-Positively impact student achievement, using appropriate instructional strategies and strong knowledge of the appropriate curriculum and content area.
-Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
-Effectively manage the learning environment.
-Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
-Understand, appreciate and make accommodations for student diversity.
-Participate in professional development for continuous learning.
-Work with families in a partnership role.
-Work collaboratively with colleagues and community.
-Follow State legal requirements and District and building policies and procedures.
-Perform any other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business and/or Marketing.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Colorado Teaching License.
Possess or be eligible for the appropriate Colorado CTE endorsement.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills; willingness to communicate frequently with families regarding school curriculum and student progress.
-Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English.
-Dedication to high standards of excellence and the success of all students; ability to personalize instruction for students so that all are challenged to learn.
-Data-driven evidence of closing the achievement gap and deep knowledge of instructional practices that will do so.
-Technologically literate and motivated to use technology to enhance learning.

SALARY
Per the Bayfield School District teacher salary schedule based on education and years of experience.
